Physics 1C Summer II 2001: Quizzes
Monday and Friday General Quiz Policy
These policies are not meant to sound intimidating or Draconian, but are given here to avoid any possible misunderstandings (or unpleasant surprises) for students and instructor. This is in accordance with UCSD's "Policy on Integrity of Scholarship".
- All quizzes are closed book - no outside information allowed.
- Your class grade will be based on the best 3 out of 4 scores - no make-ups.
Monday (Reading) Quizzes
- You must use a Scantron form 20788 (long blue form). These can be obtained from the bookstore (15c) or from the instructor (25c).
- Fill in your 3-digit quiz code# on the front of the scantron card under "Exam Number" by bubbling in the numbers with a 2B pencil.
- If your scantron card has a valid, readable quiz code# you will receive an additional "attendance" point.
- We do not have resources to grade scantron cards manually. Scantrons with invalid or unreadable quiz code#s will receive no credit.
Friday Quizzes:
- Use a new empty UCSD Blue answer book.
- Write your quiz code# on the front. Optionally, for added security, you can write your name on the inside cover.
- Use pen only (not red) - pencils are not allowed.
- Regrades: If you feel that you deserve at least 5 additional points on a returned quiz, within 1 week of the quiz you should:
- write a "Dear Grader" letter explaining your grievance
- submit this letter with your blue book to a lecture TA (Bart or Mike)
- realize that we retain the option of regrading your entire quiz, so your score may go down as well as up!
Friday Quiz Solutions:
(For reading quiz solutions, see the week's first-day lecture notes).
